Organizers: Walk Toronto and Community Bikeways
Lee Scott - Walk Toronto + WoW Power Walking; Mariyan Boychev - urban studies graduate + wheelchair commuter; Albert Koehl - author, enviro lawyer, Exec Director, Community Bikeways
Torontonians are always talking about "traffic", and traffic delays, but why does the conversation often ignore people on foot, bikes, wheelchairs, and transit? Isn't their time important too? In this walk we show you how some simple, and some more difficult, new connections in the Islington Village area could save thousands of residents lots of time, and improve the quality of their lives. Our walk will give examples about how the city can create easier access from Mabelle Ave, and its many residential towers, to the Islington Subway Stn, to Tom Riley Park, to the library, to the Bloor bike lane, and to local schools, including Etobicoke Collegiate.
This in-person event is wheel-chair accessible, This event is kid-friendly and open to all ages.
No registration required.
