Reaping What She Sows: Women at the Forefront of Toronto Food Systems Change

  • Lillian H. Smith 239 College Street Toronto, Ontario, M5T 1R5 Canada (map)

Organizer: Toronto Public Library

Global events - from pandemics, war, and foodborne illnesses - have threatened farmers' livelihoods, created supermarket shortages, and revealed to consumers that our food system is broken. In the face of these threats to our well-being and food security, what can we do as a community to strengthen our local food system?

Meet Nancy Matsumoto, author of Reaping What She Sows: How Women Are Rebuilding Our Broken Food System, who will introduce her book and highlight Toronto women changemakers building up local and regional supply chains to combat the destructive effects of Big Food.
