Youth Climate Corps Celebration: Entry-Level JOB, FOOD, FUN, SOCIAL

  • Christie Pits Park 750 Bloor Street West Toronto, Ontario, M6G 3B1 Canada (map)

Organizer: Youth Climate Corps

Frustrated by the job market?

Unemployed? Tired of sending applications into the void? Employers demand entry-level experience—but how are you supposed to get it without connections, expensive networking events, or unpaid internships? The sustainability and green jobs sector needs skilled youth, but the door is locked for too many.

To solve this problem, we’ve decided to organize youth at Toronto Climate Week for entry-level jobs. Yes, we are actually providing an experience you can put on your resume AND a letter of recommendation. 📝 ( Canvassing, Video recording, booth setup for check in, research MP organization greenwashing practices, draft facts sheet.. )

We are hiring you for a day from June 1st to June 6th, while not paid yet (if the youth climate corps pilot was fully invested at 1 billion by the federal government, you would be paid a living wage while learning!).

On JUNE 6TH, join us at a social event with food and fun activities to reflect on your experience and celebrate the wins and the Youth Climate Corps campaign. Get your certification of entry-level jobs and letter of recommendation!

You will also learn what's happening for green jobs in Toronto and join in the launch of the policy paper of a Yellowhead Institute paper!

I understand when I attend an event I enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur. By entering the event premises, I consent to such recording media and its release, publication, exhibition or reproduction.
